Today, there are over 175,000 convicted murderers in prison. Some are guilty, some are innocent. Some will eventually be released from prison through the parole “Lifer” hearing process. It is called a “Lifer Hearing” due to the murderer having been sentence to “Life in prison with the possibility of parole”. In prisons the murderers are referred to as “Lifers”. This is the process for them to be granted parole and let out of prison.

To be successful, the murderer has to come to understand that the process is not about his guilt or innocence. It is about the ability to face reality and demonstrate that he is no longer dangerous to society.

This show was developed to expose that little known and less understood world of the Parole “LIFER” hearing process. These episodes take the viewer into the consultation where the inmate is given a preview of what will happen at the hearing.

All episodes are based on real cases from the files of Attorney Givens.
